For me, my appreciation of Japanese art lies often in the delicate presentations of nature; birds, plum and cherry blossoms....delicate leaves with use of pastel colors in hues that somehow surprise.

:x These are simply gorgeous, Lori! So gorgeous it hurts. I'm a sucker for this art, especially the birds and cherry blossoms. The details in these prints are stunning. Whenever I'm in an antique shop, I search out paintings/prints such as these. Love love love💕✨💕

Fun With Kites!

“Unwind, Pictures In The Sky” by KQED, is a fascinating interview with artist Goyo Kazuka, an expert in the traditional Japanese art of hand painted Hamamatsu kites. Kazuka, who was born in Hamamatsu, Japan, explains the history, structure and artistry of the kites. He also expresses his joy in keeping this tradition alive through festivals and classes in the San Francisco Bay Area.
