Oh that is just one of the most hugely satisfying creations I have seen. I love it - it's just so very round and tactile and wholesome.
It's just so very pleasing in its proportions and colours and shape. Perfect.

Oh, I wish you could have been there, Moonchime. I wish you all could have been there. Peggy nearly came, but next year she would hopefully make it.
We had the best weekend. Met so many interesting and super talented people. Everyone was so friendly and easily approachable. Artists and punters working alongside each other. The lines were blurred and the concept of artist extended to all. We played. We created. We watched other people play and create. And most of all, we had a lot of fun.
Bridlington is an ideal place for this. The beach is a paradise for land art: sand, and stones of all shapes and sizes and colours. Sewerby Hall's gardens/woods were perfect for other kinds of landart. Sand, land and stone days... with a bit of overlap: worked beautifully. And the gorgeous Flamborough Head is just 10 minutes drive away for an evening walk! Who could ask for more?
Will and I ended up creating a stone/sand piece together yesterday, and worked for nearly five hours on it without breaking for food or even a pee! We just completely lost track of time and got caught up in the buzz of creating alongside so many other people. The beach was a happy hive of creativity!
Here is the FB page where you can see a bunch of photos of the weekend.

James Brunt organised it all, and he's just the most wonderful human being. (We have a thread for his fabulous art here.)
Land Art is a perfect way to be mindful, be in the moment, to experience "the flow". And you get to be outdoors, melting into your surroundings. All comes together really in an amazing way.
I'm so inspired by this weekend, and will strive to get back into creating regularly. And doing things together is super fun. Isn't it, Mz Lori? I'll forever cherish our little land art pieces from Yorkshire! Btw, I must remember to put those up here at some point!

Ooooh how lovely - I particularly like the colour palette gradation in the second along, and the sheep - (and yours of course but I've already said that).
Sounds like a really successful event in every way. I hope Will skipped into work today!

Now I see what you mean about the Jon Foreman piece-YOWZA!!! His creations are really outer limits, but that one is scrumptious.
Thank you for sharing all your experiences with us, Dee. I wish I could have gone in MC's place to the festival.
I saw this gentleman's work on the news one night; he's developed quite a following. He also discussed giving the art back to the sea as it inevitably washes away; I think MC was saying how that's easier to stomach than some asshat kicking it and wrecking it forever. Agreed!
