Yes-he is part of an art installation along one major street. Tiny figures depicting every day life in the city. Shame on me for not walking the entirety!

I haven't had the fortune to see this incredible piece but I did get to see something that reminded me of it just the other day.NurseRatched wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2017 7:27 am
How does one sculpt a veil?! This statue was executed in flawless Carrera marble by the renowned Italian sculptor Giovanni Strazza (1818-1875) in Rome.

It is called the Bride and is after the sculptor Raffaelle Monti and is done in a porcelain called parian which was apparently considered an alternative to marble. The original is sculpted in marble and is in Chatsworth House. Apparently it was very popular in the 18th century to prove your skill as a sculptor by sculpting transparent fabrics.

INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL! I can't get over the delicacy of these sculptures. And my mind is looking at them, thinking "That's a soft transparent object-but it's made of stone??!!!"

I've come across the lovely little lady above whilst I was looking for this lately darling here below

The Little Princess by László Márton, on the railings of the Danube promenade in Budapest, Hungary, 1990
The statue is based on a little statuette (50 cm) inspired in 1972 by his then 5 year old daughter playing princess dressed in a bathroom robe and a crown made of newspaper.
This statue is pure delight, just sitting there on the railing, like a real little person. Perhaps she is.

Book Sculptures by Justin Rowes (Cambridge, UK):

The Kraken

Now was her opportunity

Witch Garden

Pride and Prejudice

Wizard of Oz

Still no soul appeared upon her decks

Hopeful had much ado to keep his Brother's head above water

Perhaps I shall find out somebody's secret!

I feel as if we haven't admired the Little Princess! She's such a delight, Dee. You must have memories of seeing this darling sprite in person, is that right? Budapest looks incredible; what's that large building behind our young lady?
I do tend to lose track of threads and miss additions. The BOOKS. Holy cow!! What an imaginative thing to do. Really cool.
