I love The Force Of Nature, such a powerful image.

And this Fredrik Raddum piece:

Image

It's great, isn't it? Humans are such wimps compared to birds. How they build their nests, look after their young tirelessly working round the clock for weeks, how much some of them travel for food, the hardships they face with the weather and their predators... Their endurance is mind blowing.

I love this image of a little bird effortlessly dragging a human that appears to have given up.
Come on dude, just get up and keep going.

I've looked at his other stuff on the link you've provided, but nothing else appealed to me. This one here however is a great find!

You are so right about birds; such fascinating creatures. And their fancy mating dances! :57: I marvel at the birds around here in the winter. It can be well below zero & they are flying around, doing their thing. How they don't freeze to death mid-air is beyond me!

Christophe Charbonnel

French figurative sculptor who quit his job with Disney as a cartoonist to sculpt.

This link has some repetitive photos but it does peek at his process further in which is fascinating.

I love the rough-hewn beauty and the contemporary honesty with these faces!

So glad that Christophe Charbonel gave up his cartoon work - what amazing sculptures - the young man's face looks real - the eyes so piercing - something I can't remember seeing in the same way in other work. I like the way he mixes the finely honed image with ragged edges - incredible. :72:

This one, with the beautiful lips, :72:, almost feels like not even a sculpture at all, but a human covered in full face mask.

I agree, MC, the eyes are incredible.
