I didn't know where else to put these, or whether they actually work, but I just came across them and thought they would be definitely worth a try. Please add anything here that you think might make life a little easier! :08:

I knew about rolling them a little, especially lime, but microwave them? Who'd have thought? Who'd have even thought of trying it?

Great stuff, Dee!

When I helped my parents move, someone had dripped Coca Cola or some such thing across their light tan carpet. They had sold their carpet cleaner in the auction. This worked beautifully. Stain by stain, it all came out. White vinegar alone works on a lot of carpet stains.

WARNING: Test it on colored carpets in a hidden area before trying.

(Sorry, Dee - I doubt it takes iron burns out...)

For tonight's recipe I needed lime juice, so I microwaved a fairly old lime for 15 sec on high power, and what do you know, it worked! I've never seen so much juice come out of a lime with so much ease. Amazing.

That is the one tip that I have used regularly in the past! It makes it so much easier.

Suddenly I feel that I'm a little kid who has just sneaked into the drawing room where the grownups know all sort of secret grownup stuff! :?

I just love that! Dee and Lori thank you!

These tips can be life savers in moments of frustration. I sometimes bake a lemon meringue pie and having lots of juice come of those beautiful lemons (sometimes limes) is a great gift.

I got a new oven that is not installed yet. I will let you know about the lemon juice yield when I get the chance to bake the next lemon pie in the new oven.

This is for the Elfs  :72:

DF, Would you believe me if I told you I was an orphan and I needed some kind person to take me in?

Seems to me Lori that with DF's cooking skills(or how I imagine them to be) you might not come out the way you went in! :57:

Some interesting tips here - I might just go and throw some oil in a pan with some salt just for the fun of it and to see what happens - then maybe dribble some red wine on the carpet- although we don't have so much carpet anymore after the dog kept being sick on it!
:72:
Anyone tips on getting rid of animal smells? :57:

I would believe you but you don't need to tell me anything. You are welcome to enjoy my baking any time dear.
